Rick Tober

(bass guitar and vocals)

1-2016Rick joined the group in the spring of 2003.  He had been performing regularly as worship leader at the home church they had started.  After moving to another congregation, he and his granddaughter, Alexis continued to preside as the worship team on occasion.  Soon Alexis was singing with the group at some of their events.

Rick proclaimed Jesus as his Lord and Savior in 1996 and rededicated his life to witnessing for Jesus Christ.

Rick’s musical background involved garage bands from the late sixties.  They played the typical rock & roll music for local venues.  After his enlistment in the Air Force, he continued to play guitar, but only casually.  He longed for a place in a group, but didn’t have the time, holding down at least one full-time job, a part-time business and raising a family.

It wasn’t until after his retirement that Dave, Phyllis and Gene came to play at his church, did the opportunity present itself.  They made a statement to the congregation that they were looking for a bassist and a fellow church member told Rick, “Go on!  Tell them you play bass!”  Rick approached them and the rest is history.

Rick lends his talents of bass, along with adding vocals and harmony.  He sings lead on a few songs and his musical talent blends with the group’s wide genre of material.  His other interests and hobbies are photography, computer technology, Bible studies and reading.  Rick lives in West Seneca and attends Armor Bible Church.

Hey Rick- The web site is very good. I may try and come to hear you play sometime in the future. I visit friends that live at Highpointe on Michigan (the old Deconness) nursing home and St Francis of Williamsville. So I know how important sharing God’s message through song can be. Did you help with the web site? Me I am busy with my mom and some close friends. Hope to have that cup of coffee with you soon so we could catch up. My home phone is listed under PJ Tenz. Give me a ring when you have the time. Glad to hear that you are still a grandpa to Alexis.
    God bless
